Sunday service, Dec 17th

Stanza from DP 355 song:
Let us all in sweet communion,
Gathered from the world apart,
Praise our God and mighty Savior
From the depths of soul and heart.
He has lifted us from bondage,
From the pit of sin and shame,
Saved us from our hopeless misery.
Glory to His holy name!

Brother Rajmund Kubica began with a word from 1 John 1:5: “And this proclamation which we have heard from him, and which we proclaim to you, is that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all.” Darkness will not abide in us, there is no place for it in the preaching of the pure word of God.

Brother Ruben Nooitgedagt emphasized how high our goal in life is – to become like Jesus! I should live with the awareness that I want to be like the Master but I still lack a lot. This desire affects our thinking, our decisions, our reactions. I am careful in judgments, words, I am alert.
1 John 1:6: “If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not hold to the truth.”
2 Corinthians 4:6: “For God, who said: Let light shine out of darkness, has lightened our hearts, that the knowledge of the glory of God, which is on the face of Christ, may shine forth.”
God’s glory (virtue) is supposed to radiate from us. Colleagues at work see how I respond. Not words, but actions are to testify to the glory of Christ.

A stanza from the DP 292 song:
We’ve received living faith in our Savior
And the work Jesus finished on earth.
/: And we openly make the confession
That all else is just void of all worth. :/
