The service began with hymn #111:
„:/: Lord, we praise Thee! :/:
By Thy wisdom Thou didst call us to this wondrous life divine.
:/: We would please Thee. :/:
Praise and honor shall forevermore be Thine!”
Brother Peter Pilch emphasized the importance of God’s Word in our daily lives. There are many interpretations and opinions among people, but God’s Word is the only thing you can be sure of.
Heb 4:2-3: “For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it. For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said,
As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.”
The first stanza from song 59:
„To be more humble is our greatest need now;
We need much deeper, deeper down to go.
What can we e’er accomplish on high places,
When Christ Himself went through the valley low?”
