Baptism

On Sunday, October 17, 2021, a water baptism ceremony was held in our church.

Brother Ruben Nooitgedagt explained that baptism is a testimony of making a covenant with God. Jesus died and we with him to consciously live a new life for the glory of Christ and the Gospel.

Brother Rajmund Kubica baptized 22 people by immersion in water.

Br Herman van Dijk exhorted us to run with perseverance in our race for the Kingdom of God and not to look back like Lot’s wife. We should make every effort to follow Jesus and deny ourselves so that the life of Jesus may be manifested in us.

Romans 6:5: “For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his.”

We will still be tested, but it only brings us closer to sanctification.
1 Peter 4:12: “Dear friends, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you.”

Romans 6:3-4: Or don’t you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

In the second part, Brother Peter Pilch led the celebration of the memorial of the Lord’s Supper with the newly baptized in attendance, after which each spoke a testimony of faith and gratitude, and a confession of hope for a conscious life with God.

1 Corinthians 11:23-29: “For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, “This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.” In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, “This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.” For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes. So then, whoever eats the bread or drinks the cup of the Lord in an unworthy manner will be guilty of sinning against the body and blood of the Lord. Everyone ought to examine themselves before they eat of the bread and drink from the cup. For those who eat and drink without discerning the body of Christ eat and drink judgment on themselves.
