This Sunday Brother Jerzy Polok began with a Word from the Psalms. Ps 119:66-68: “Teach me right judgment and knowledge, For I have believed your commandments! Before I was humbled, I wandered, But now I guard your word. Thou art good and doest well, Teach me thy statutes!”
John 12:49-50: “For I have not spoken of myself, but the Father who sent me, He has commanded me what I should say and what I should speak. And I know that his commandment is eternal life. Therefore, what I say to you, I say as the Father has told me.”
When we speak, let us speak as the Father has told us, let this field always be pure and strong.
Brother Peter Pilch read from Romans 6:1-2: “What then shall we say? Shall we remain in sin so that grace may abound? Never! How shall we, who have died to sin, yet live in it?”
We know what is not right to do in the church, but whether I am truly godly is evidenced by whether I settle for a facade. It won’t help us to refrain from something indefinitely, one has to die to sin to free oneself from it. It’s work on ourselves in secret, let’s be resolute in our choices there.
Oskar Pilch quoted a word from the letter to the Romans. Romans 8:19: “For the creation longingly awaits the revelation of the sons of God,”. The whole creation waits for my life in victory over sin. Who I am for God’s creation, the result of my life is the logical outcome of what I am in secret before God.
This Sunday also marked the first Sunday school for children this school year.
Song DP 331 (excerpt):
I will honor and glorify Thee,
For from sin and from darkness I’m free.
To Thy glory and praise I will live;
Grace abundant to me Thou dost give.
I will praise Thee, dear Jesus, for giving Thyself,
So I can to life enter in
And be clothed in pure linen so radiant and bright,
And have rest and Thy peace deep within.
I will praise Thee, dear Jesus, for life-giving laws,
Which strengthen and guide me aright.
I can freely and gladly go onward each day
And be pleasing, dear Lord, in Thy sight.
