On the 15th-17th of March, a weekend was organized for brothers from Ustroń and Wroclaw. The organizers took care of edifying meetings, as well as activities for the body. This composition had a fantastic effect on each of us.
On Sunday, brothers Aksel, Edwin and Luke began with the song 156:
The crux of the matter is to forget yourself, what you feel,
Then God will use you first.
Such souls are needed among the brotherhood,
In whom the Spirit of Sacrifice does his work.
In faith go forward!
Do God’s will!
Know that you will not regret having lived like this!
Never shall your heart find such holy joy,
Which, following the way of the cross, thou shalt have.
Brother Piotr Pilch:
John 12:23-28: “…Truly, truly, I say to you, if a grain of wheat that falls into the ground does not die, a single seed remains; but if it dies, it bears much fruit. Whoever loves his life will lose it, but whoever hates his life in this world will preserve it unto eternal life. If anyone wants to serve me, let him follow me, and where I am, there will my servant be also; if anyone serves me, my Father will honor him. Now my soul is troubled, and what shall I say? Father, save me now from this hour? After all, this is why I came to this hour. Father, glorify your name! So a voice from heaven rang out: And I have glorified, and I will still glorify.”
There are many capable people in the brotherhood who can do this and that, but we are all to serve. Let’s have a straightforward attitude – if you want God to make me “the last one,” I will serve others in the least important place. But I will not live in any injustice to my family, employer, or church.
There is no space where you can live a little in impurity and hide something. Only when we clear everything can we stand on Zion.
Brother Witold Czyz:
We should take our lives with great seriousness. The story was told about Brother Sverre that he asked the brothers for prayer 40 times at meetings at Brunstad. He was aware of his poverty, which is why he received help from God and became such a great blessing to us. Brother Peter had similar poverty, which is why it is so important to prick our ears when such brothers speak.
Phil 2:5-8: “Be of such a disposition toward one another as was in Christ Jesus, Who, though He was in the form of God, did not insist greedily on being equal to God, But denied Himself, took the form of a servant, and became like men; and having been shown in the attitude of a man, He humbled Himself and was obedient to the point of death, and that to the death of the cross.”
If I feel I can defend myself, justify my position, I can think of Jesus, how he would have reacted, think of admonitions from dear brothers.
Brother Marek Kędzior:
In history, we have had examples of brothers who developed the sails of their sailing ship strongly in their youth, but did not have enough ballast in the keel. Let’s remember to gain God’s values in secret, so that life has a valuable weight.
Mat 26:39-41: “Then he proceeded a little farther, and fell on his face, and prayed and said: My Father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me; after all, not as I will, but as You will. And he returned to the disciples, and found them sleeping, and said unto Peter, Thus could ye not one hour watch with me? Watch and pray, lest you fall into temptation; for though the spirit is willing, yet the flesh is faint.”
The flesh is faint and easily preoccupied with shallow external things. I have to remember that every situation is about me finding my life and losing it, even though reason tells me it’s about others.
Many brothers expressed their sincere gratitude for the event and their full willingness to repeat such a reunion.
