On Sunday, the 27th February 2022 we had a service with brothers from Norway who had been invited to the church wedding.
Brother Petter Nilsen began by reading from Hebrews 4:12, “The Word of God is living and effective, sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the separation of soul and spirit, of joints and marrow, able to judge the intents and thoughts of the heart.”
He exhorted that such a separation of spirit from soul, our affections, our senses, is necessary for our growth. Then we can see ourselves, our wrongdoing, but also the way out of it. And on this we can work more and more perfectly.
Brother Tore Gangsøy exhorted us to try hard to enter into rest, to work on our salvation. Exercise in godliness, then I am on this good track.
1 Tim 4:6: “As you teach this to the brethren, you will be a good servant of Christ Jesus, nourished on the words of faith and good doctrine which you followed.”
Many brothers and sisters shared their testimonies of wanting to exercise godliness, to watch over themselves, and to hold others to be higher than themselves.
After this edifying service, fellowship continued with conversation and coffee.
